cardstock (cut to desires size and/or shape)
masking tape
clear embossing powder
heat gun
ink pad (any color you desire, I used Chocolate)
To begin, tear small pieces of masking tape in layer them on to the pre-cut piece of cardstock.

This is what it should look like when you are finished...

Next, using your ink pad swipe over the masking tape until you've reached your desired look.

Cover the entire piece of cardstock with clear embossing powder. No embossing ink is required because the powder will stick to the texture of the masking tape.

Heat the embossing powder until it melts, let cool...

... and there you have your faux leather.
